What households here ask for
Los Angeles households tend to want a chef who cooks the way the family actually eats, not a tasting menu every night. Clean, produce-led cooking built around whatever the farmers' markets are good for that week — Santa Monica on a Wednesday, Hollywood on a Sunday — with the range to put on a dinner for twenty when it's needed.
Dietary work is the norm, not the exception
More briefs here specify how the household eats than anywhere else we work: plant-forward, gluten-free, low-sugar, macro-counted, or cooking around a trainer's plan. We shortlist chefs who have run that kind of kitchen for a family already, rather than a restaurant chef who says they can adapt.
Discretion and the people around the family
Many of the households we work with have staff, security and schedules that change hourly. A private chef here has to work alongside an estate manager and a personal assistant without friction, travel at short notice, and never discuss the household. We screen for that as carefully as for the food.
